Service helps firms deliver hybrid working and improve employees’ working experience whilst travelling

There has been a permanent change in how and where people work.

The past few years have taught organisations that it is possible to hire people in geographic areas where they may not have historically based employees. This has allowed companies to expand their geographic reach while obtaining new talent.

One of the approaches our customers have used to provision workstations for this new fully remote workforce is to deploy Microsoft Windows 365. The cloud service allows organisations to deploy a fully managed machine in a matter of minutes, enabling full-time remote workers to be up and running immediately.

But what happens now that people are starting to make their way back to the office? A Microsoft-commissioned study that was carried out by Forrester – Understanding The Role Of Modernized PCs In Hybrid Work Environment Optimization – showed that 53 per cent of people prefer a job that allows them to work remotely. However, these same individuals want to have the flexibility to work in the office when necessary too. Windows 365 delivers both security and performance, while providing people with a consistent machine experience no matter what device they are working from. By using Windows 365, employees that work primarily in a remote capacity can continue to be fully functional when they are back in the office.

Our customers are now beginning to travel for business again, creating new requirements for the accessibility of their data. One of the biggest concerns organisations have with deploying cloud-powered desktops is facilitating the ability to work offline, especially for employees who may be travelling by air. Microsoft has addressed this concern with Windows 365 Offline, which enables users to work in Windows 365 even when disconnected from the internet. When connectivity is restored, the Cloud PC will automatically resynchronise with the service, delivering a convenient and reliable work experience.

As the world continues to embrace hybrid work, all companies should be focused on enabling their workers to easily transition back and forth between remote and in-office work in the most secure manner possible. Now is the time for all organisations to ensure that the tools and technologies are in place to allow employees to work securely from anywhere.
