Global energy company Equinor is transforming its field operations through advanced robotics and AI powered by Microsoft partner Cognite.

Equinor was facing challenges in scaling its robotics for industrial operations and worked with Cognite to integrate, contextualise and enable AI on operational data using the Cognite Data Fusion platform.

Equinor has tested the capabilities of the platform during a pilot test using Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot and Adigo Mechatronics’ VÅK robot and sampling station. The robots collect and stream data to Cognite Data Fusion, where AI analyses it to detect anomalies.

Early results have shown faster fault detection, smarter maintenance and time savings.
